What to say about a band which has released a respectable mark of 20 albums? And what to say about a band which its frontman and founder is best known as God? I think at least we’ll have nothing to complain about this band. Motörhead is back with their 20th album and believe me: “Nothing has changed”. Lemmy has a peculiar way to get things going and man, the guy knows how to make a Heavy Metal album. So I started to think about what makes me so crushed about Motörhead music. Could it be the thunder sound of distorted bass? Lemmy’s evil voice? Or could it be the combination of thrash guitar players and animal drummers? I really think that is mix of it all. Motörhead tradition is to send a direct and true message through all these factors. And they do it since 1975. After all this we need to hail these guys.
But the negative point and main difference, in my opinion, between Motörhead and the others is marketing. The World is yours is a hell of an album! And these guys are touring for hundred years and most of the shows have a very low advertising. I really don’t understand why Motörhead has such few reviews. I really prefer to think that its fan’ profile is different than the others and they don’t need all these promotion to achieve new fans.
“The World is yours” has very good moments and it is a truly Rock n’ Roll album. Fast, furious, catchy sound and a lesson of what rock n roll is about. Lemmy putted his influence in Little Richards out in a thrashed way and has shown us that his guys and in top form. Lyrics are still rounding the same content of a pessimist future and cruel reality. And Lemmy also brings to light his “Born to Loose” stuff again (first song title and also part of classic Ace of Spades Lemmy’s tattoo). My combination of must listen tracks are “Outlaw”, “Brotherhood of Man” and “Devils in my Hand”. Outlaw and Devil in my Hand belongs to those killing songs that blows the fans heads out. Brotherhood shows Lemmy’s March or Die voice which is one of my favorite features in Motörhead sound.
Bottom line: same formula, same quality, same respect for these guys.

O que dizer sobre uma banda que consegue atingir a respeitável marca de 20 álbuns de estúdio? E o que dizer sobre uma banda cujo fundador e frontman é mais conhecido no mundo do Heavy Metal como Deus? Eu acho que ao menos não teríamos nada a reclamar dessa banda. Motörhead está de volta com seu 20º álbum e podem acreditar: “Nada mudou”. Lemmy tem uma forma particular de fazer as coisas e cara, ele realmente sabe como fazer um álbum de Heavy Metal.
Então eu comecei a pensar após ouvir “The World is Yours” o que me faz gostar tanto do som do Motörhead. Poderia ser o som apocalíptico do Rickenbacker distorcido? Seria a voz maligna de Lemmy? Ou poderia ser a combinação de guitarras thrash e baterias animais? Eu acho que deve ser a combinação disso tudo. Motörhead tem a tradição de mandar uma mensagem direta e verdadeira através de todos esses elementos e isso desde 1975. Acho que temos que tirar o chapéu pra eles.
Mas o ponto negativo e a diferença entre Motörhead para as demais bandas de metal é o marketing. “The World is Yours” é um baita álbum! E esses caras estão em turnês por quase cem anos e a maioria dos shows tem baixa promoção na mídia e outros veículos. Eu ainda não consigo entender porque o Motörhead possui tão poucos reviews de críticos especializados. Será que só porque a banda não vende como um Iron Maiden não merece tratamento igual? Eu ainda prefiro pensar que o perfil dos fãs é diferente dos demais, e não precisam desse tipo de “fidelização”.
“The World is yours” possui momentos muito bons e é um álbum de Rock n Roll de verdade. Rápido, furioso, músicas cativantes e uma lição do que é Rock n Roll. Lemmy colocou sua influência de Little Richards para fora e nos mostra que os caras estão em ótima forma. Letras ainda abrangem a mesma temática de futuro pessimista e realidade cruel. E Lemmy ainda traz seu “Born to Loose” novamente (nome da primeira faixa e parte da clássica tatuagem de Ace of Spades). Minha combinação de músicas favoritas são “Outlaw”, “Brotherhood of Man” and “Devils in my Hand”. “Outlaw” and “Devil in my Hand” pertencem a categoria de músicas que arrebentam a cabeça de fãs. “Brotherhood” traz a voz de “March or Die” de Lemmy que é uma das coisas que mais gosto na música do Motörhead.
Resumo da ópera: mesma fórmula, mesma qualidade, mesmo respeito por esses caras.
